St. Mary Magdalen's 1st Annual 5K Run

The spring was a blur for me trying to work, softball practice with both Rosie & Anna and organizing the St. MM 1st Annual 5K Run.  I was pretty tired by the end of the school year, but it was worth it!  Work is always busy, and somehow I keep up with all the projects (barely!) 

Softball is going so well for Rosie's team - we are now 4-1 and have 5 more games to go.  We had so many rainouts again, and some of the teams are not too flexible when rescheduling the games.  We may only have 4 more games......  The team is just doing so well, and they love playing (& I love coaching). 

But back to the 5K Run - what a beautiful morning we had on May 22nd!  I'm not sure I slept the night before because I was so nervous about it running smoothly.  It did and we received so many compliments - we had plenty of water, volunteers, food & the route was tough yet good!  I am pumped for next year - I can't believe I just wrote that!

Jay LaMartina was the winner - Anne worked with me on the race (his wife) so we were so excited when we saw him turn the corner for the finish line.

Did I mention we also had a 1 Mile Fun Run & my 1st grade daughter came in 3rd overall???  She beat 4th grade boys & her 4th grade sister!!!  She is a speed demon.  The kids loved the race too & really enjoyed watching all the 5K runners come in.  All worth the effort & stress!!!

Next year, I'm going to have Pete be my camera man too!  One main thing I forgot - pictures!  How could I forget a crucial item & I am always with "camera in hand."

Mother's Day & More Celebrating for Jo's Birthday!

Mother's Day was not the best day for me as I headed to the doctor in the morning (really the Urgent Care Center) to find out I had the flu.  I thought it was just strep throat, but I did get medicine & felt better within 2 days.  I was pretty out of it on Sunday, but I did my best to celebrate with my mom.  It was a beautiful day at the park, and everyone had a great time playing soccer or wiffle ball or just hanging on the blanket (me!)

We also celebrated May birthdays, so Jo opened some good gifts from her aunts & cousins.  She loves her My Little Pony toys!!

Our First Dance Recital

The girls took dance this year on Monday night, and I was a bit hesitant since it was a full year commitment & I know nothing about dance!  They really liked it, and I have come around that learning dance is a good life skill.  I also like that they were comfortable performing on a stage in front of so many people.  They had fun and were committed & loved the recital.  They did great, and we really enjoyed watching them perform.  Good job Rosie & Anna!!

Josephine's 3rd Birthday!!

On May 8th (yes, that's almost 2 months ago), Jo turned three!  She is so full of words now, and we just love listening to her proclamations about EVERYTHING!  She is such a love bug too - she gives us the best hugs especially when you really need one (every day when I get home from work!)  No matter where she is, we always hear how cute & adorable she is - we agree!  Jo is full of spunk, and she has her daddy wrapped around her finger.  Her sisters are her protector, and we can't wait for her to come home from school & tell us all about her friends & what they did during the day.  Jo is my baby, and I love watching her become a little girl.  We love you Jo Jo!

We celebrated on Saturday, May 8th with Grandma & Grandpa Carollo at Psghetti's.  Grandma brought her a super cute little cake which Jo loved!!!  After the afternoon celebration, we headed out to the "dance recital!"  Poor Jo had to share her day, but she never minds (at least not yet!)  She didn't know yet what SUPER SURPRISE we had for her - more on that later...

Rosie's Play

Rosie is in her last year of the Drama Club, and they put on the funniest shows. Ms. Greschner wrote this play, and the kids were so good with their "funny lines."  Rosie wore her Elvis costume and did a GREAT job - she got some good laughs from the audience.  I laughed out loud & couldn't believe how confident she was in front of everyone.  I am forever amazed at my children - they are always surprising me & I love it.  The drama club is the best club for the kids to gain confidence in public speaking.  They love this club!

Adam's Confirmation

Monday, April 26th was another WONDERFUL evening!  I was Adam's Confirmation Sponsor, and it was the most moving Mass.  I was so pumped up after the Mass and so excited for Adam (John).  It is truly a once in a lifetime moment - I know it was special for him but as an adult, it reinforces that the Holy Spirit is  with us all the time. 

Adam, you are growing up too quickly, but I am so proud of you.  I will always see you as the cutest little baby, but I know you are growing up to be an honest & caring man.  I love your haircut too!!!  Keep it short for me!

Jacob's First Holy Communion

Has it really been that long since I last posted?  When you get out of the habit....

At the end of April, we celebrated Jacob's First Holy Communion on Saturday, April 24th.  It was a smaller group of kids, so it made it even more special.  He looked so sweet, and I just love witnessing this sacrament.  Afterwards, we celebrated at Kay & Greg's house.  It was a wonderful afternoon & evening with family!

My brother & sister-in-law have a houseful of animals, and Spike (guinea pig) is the newest one.  Guess who wants one now???
