Happy Birthday to me!

I officially turn 40 today.  Woohoo!  I've received so many messages & cards & gifts which has made me feel very special.  I am being rather silly about this one for some reason.  It's a weird feeling to say "I'm 40" because you never think you are going to be that age.  My husband and daughters gave me wonderful gifts this morning - three new charms for my bracelet, a pink Wii controller (I'm addicted to Wii tennis) & a new Teavana set (I've wanted one but thought they were too pricey).  I have one now & can't wait to make some delicious tea (will be better for me than coffee - maybe I'll give up coffee!!) 

Tonight is dinner with my in-laws and then on Friday, a night out with Pete & my sisters & their husbands.  Looking forward to it!  Thank you to my wonderful husband, daughters, parents, sisters & brothers (even got an e-mail from Greg), nieces (thank you Stephanie) & nephews and friends.  It's a good day!

Spaghetti & Bingo Anyone?

Last night, Anna & I spent the evening together eating spaghetti & playing bingo for Adam's 8th grade fundraiser at St. Norbert.  We sat with my parents and my sister Joanie & Uncle Skip.  The spaghetti was pretty darn tasty, and Adam was quite the server.  Wil finally won bingo on the last round - yippee!  None of us won a basket but we tried our best!!

We missed Rosie's basketball game, but she phoned me right after the game & told me she got 5 points!!!  They lost 22-16 to St. Paul, but she said it was a good game & wasn't too disappointed.  I think her scoring overcame the loss!  Their team has lost their last 3 games, so they need to get out of this slump.  I'm positive they will push through - they look good at every game -  just need to make more shots.  They got pushed up into the top league & we can tell the teams are very different from last year.  Good for them - will only make them better!  Go Chargers!

Mardi Gras Party with Anna

Anna's teacher asked for a Mardi Gras party since they had Mission Carnival on the Friday before Valentine's Day.  Tammy & I had to get creative, and we succeeded in another awesome party (at least that's what the kids & teachers told us!)  Tammy got materials to make sand art (HUGE hit), and I did games & snacks.  We did find the letters (MARDI GRAS) & broke into 2 teams (purple & yellow).  That took 3 minutes or less but they love running around & finding those letters.  We've done this for the past 3 years for Christmas & Halloween.  Then, I made up a math game with dice (basically a timed test).  They loved it too & so did the teacher.  Everyone won Mardi Gras beads!

Father / Daughter Dance

Last weekend was the annual Father/Daughter Dance at St. MM.  Pete had troubling smiling as you can see below!!! I'm so mean!  It was a race from when he got home from work to get dressed, but he was a trooper & posed for a quick picture.  They had a great time dancing & running around.  I heard that all the daddies were out there cutting a rug (even Pete!) with their daughters.  What a special night!

A little surprise for me

Walked into work on Friday & was greeted by some black balloons & my colleagues all dressed in black.  Am I really going to be 40 & is that really that over the hill?  I don't think so!!  To be honest, this birthday is freaking me out a bit.  All I can think about is "what have I not accomplished" when I should remember all that I have done so far!  Anyway, I was very touched by their thoughtfulness for me.  We have some wonderful people at our company!

My eyesight is starting to go - the calculator was perfect & hilarious!!

RIP???  I'd like to take on some of these younguns at work in a race & see who is close to the grave!

Jo's Playdate

Jo had a playdate at Monkey Joe's with Logan, her best bud from school.  Unfortunately, Logan's family moved & thus moved Logan to a different daycare.  We miss him, but we still keep in touch.  They fell right back into their routine & had a blast together.  He is so much bigger than Jo but a total sweetie to her.

A fun day for Jo - for once she got to invite a friend & not just be the tagalong sister!! 

Josephine says the funniest things...

Pete & I are still laughing at the funniest thing Josephine said to Rosie on Friday night.  Rosie came out with her "Elvis" costume on thinking she was the coolest girl in town, and Jo looked her up & down & said "What are you wearing?"  And then she proceeded to cover her mouth with her hand & laugh hysterically.  We all busted out all laughing & Rosie the hardest of all!  If only you could hear her saying it.....

She is something else - we can't get over some of the things she says!!  What a little person she is becoming!

Sock Hop - Woodstock

To end Catholic Schools' Week, St. MM had a Sock Hop for the kids with a Woodstock theme.  I had to work late & didn't get too many good pics before they left, but I did my best during the evening!  I thought everyone looked great, and the kids danced the night away.  Jo was right in the middle as usual!!
