Stations of the Cross

We attended Stations of the Cross at St. Norbert parish, and they were amazing!! The 8th grade class acted them out, and it was the most incredible, moving ceremony that I've seen.  Adam was Jesus in one of the Stations, and he did an incredible job.  I was so glad to be there - what a great way to start Holy Week.  Thank you Mary for making sure I got there to see my cool nephew & let him know how proud we are!  I am so excited for his Confirmation & ready to be his sponsor!  We love you Adam!

GO BLUES!

We went to the STL Blues vs. Nashville Predators game last night.  Unfortunately, we lost 2-3 which is a total bummer - looks like a very low chance of making the playoffs now.  We had lots of fun going to the game as a family though!!  Rosie is totally into the game (like her dad), Anna likes the food & Jo likes Louie (the Blues mascot)!  She kept asking why Louie wouldn't come to her seat?  So cute!  We tried to wave & yell to him to come see us but he didn't hear our cries!  Next time...

Soccer Buddies

Anna & three friends are doing a soccer camp for 6 weeks at the indoor soccer arena, and they are doing GREAT!  I can't believe how much better their ball skills are coming along.  Great coaches & they are having fun too.  They would do anything as long as they are together!!!

Every Friday is Fish Fry at St. MM & then over to the soccerdome.  Kinda like not having to figure out what to make for dinner on Fridays!

Bug Eyes

Jo is the biggest goof - she thinks sunglasses are her goggles.  I could not stop laughing at her!  She is something else - I call her my little nugget - small, packed full of power & attitude.  We are creating a monster though - whatever Jo wants she tends to get.  It's all Pete's fault - she has him wrapped around her little nugget finger.

What's been happening with the Carollo's?

When spring arrives, it seems that activities seem to pick up (just like the fall when school begins).  Basketball is officially over, and softball began last night.  We had our first softball practice, and it went so well!  The girls were throwing the ball much harder than last year, and they could have practiced for 3 hours (unfortunately, darkness set in).  Tera, Nicole & I are pumped for a great season!!

Unfortunately, we lost 1-25 on Sunday (our last game).  We played a very good MQP team and tried our best.  I loved the excitement when we made the one free throw though - the girls jumped up & down & hi-fived each other.  They did not want to be shut out & we weren't!  Thank goodness....

On Sunday, Rosie & I & 11 other Girl Scouts (& three other parents) spent the night at the City Museum (aka:  Night at the Museum).  Not much sleep but lots of fun!  I really need to download my pictures from my iPhone.  They have a super cool cave with a 10-story slide that even the adults did.  We did tons of cool art projects, saw a magic show, ate pizza, ran around some more in the various areas and then hung out eating snacks & trying to fall asleep. 

Additionally, the St. MM auction is in April, and I somehow got sucked into helping.  I really wanted to "excuse" myself since me & a few others are planning the 1st Annual 5K Run before the end of year school picnic.  It's a lot to do & try to keep up with work & home.  I've hit all my "contacts" for the auction & have been happy with the response, so I feel I've done my soliciting & can now back away.  Softball needs my full attention!!

January / February Birthday Bash

We celebrated lots of birthdays (Wil, Kay, Caty, Jacob, me, Pat & Stephanie) last Sunday at Debbie's house.  Wow - that's a lot of celebrating!!  We rooted on the USA hockey team (we all know that it was a good game but unfortunately we lost 3-2).

What a Team Effort!

We witnessed the best basketball game last night, and I could not be more proud of these 5 girls.  I don't know what happened to the rest of the team but only five girls showed up for our 7:15pm game last night - Rosie, Megan, Olivia, Maddie & Gabby.  They played their hearts out & hustled & were the toughest I have ever seen.  They did not complain about being tired or needing a break even once.  They lost 18-8, but they were proud of hanging in there & never giving up.  Rosie scored 4 points & Megan got the other 4 points.  Later, Rosie told me she thought it was going to be a tough game but said she was proud of not giving up & loved how hard they all worked as a team.  That's the kind of team we want!

My Surprise 40th Party

Surprise!! Last Friday night, my husband really got me good.  He threw me a surprise party for the big 40!!  I was totally surprised but I loved it!
