Parents vs. Kids in Basketball

After the last basketball game, we had a Mom vs. child game. We had a late Saturday game, so we had the gym to ourselves after it was over. We all brought food & then played until way too late! It was a blast, and the kids had a great time running around & trying to beat their moms. I have to confess that I'm not that good at basketball, but I had fun covering Rosie!

I have to remember one funny incident from that night. Jeff Jones, the coach, climbed up the basketball hoop to retrieve a ball behind the net. Everyone was shocked that a 40 year old could still do such a thing (men & women alike were amazed). Way to go Jeff - proving we are not that old!!!

Indoor soccer with Anna

Anna played indoor soccer while Rosie was played basketball. It was a coed league, and she played with her good friend Taylor at Vetta Soccerdome. Practices were awesome - they ran great drills for the kids. I was so impressed with the coaches & their enthusiasm. She learned a lot plus it was good to play with boys & toughen her up even more. I was never able to get too many pictures because the lighting was the pits, and we sat pretty far away from the field. We were proud of her many goals against the boys & her ability to mix it up every game. I can't wait to see her play in the fall on her St. MM team. Anna is so fast & pretty darn skillful at soccer!

Basketball like the pros

Sorry for the month off from my blog. Not sure where the time went, but I got out of the habit & suddenly it was the end of March!

We played one of our last basketball games at Immocolata gym on a Friday night, and it was so fun. They have very loud music playing to get everyone excited, and then they call each of the players' names (like the pros). It was very cute & fun for the girls. I tried to get some pics to capture the moment.

I'm officially 39 years old

I had a very nice birthday, and I want to thank my family & friends that remembered me! It is always so nice to get cards in the mail. Everyone was so thoughtful! My birthday was on Ash Wednesday, so it's not exactly a day to celebrate, but it was still nice. I was able to celebrate on Tuesday when Pete & I went to a Fat Tuesday dinner at our church. My parents watched the kids for us which made it so easy on us. It was an amazing meal - one of our priests is quite a chef. Pete & I are so blessed with a wonderfuly family & truly good friends. Thank you to everyone!

Oh, the patter of those baby feet!

I just love hearing Josephine's feet run through the house. She doesn't walk - it's a run no matter when or where. Same with Anna for that matter. In the morning, my three girls line up to get their hair brushed & braided or pony-tailed or whatever they must have done. Jo now grabs a comb & barrett & waits for her turn. She has such little hair, but she wants it done. Last night, I put both Rosie & Anna's hair into pigtails before gymnastics and Jo insisted in pigtails too. They were sticking straight out like Pippy Longstocking, but she loved it. She checked herself out in the mirror too. Oh, can she be any cuter??

Music Trivia

While my kids & husband were away, the women went to a Music Trivia Night. My sister's daughter, Caty, is on a select soccer team, and they were trying to raise money. I was able to talk 7 other women into getting a table. We had lots of fun but came in 23 out of 24. I'm not sure how many times we kept saying "our husbands would know this answer." Oh well - I was so tired after the Valentine's party, setting up for the Father/Daughter dance, getting the girls gussied up, that I was lucky to put a drink to my lips. A little too much in one day! It was fun, and hey, there's time for rest later on, right?

Did I mention that our table theme was "St. Mary Magdalen Chargers?" We are so creative!

Did I also mention that I'm turning 29 again in a week? Very funny, Tera. They surprised me with a cake & candles. Very thoughtful - yes, I'm turning 39 - I can't believe how hard 40 is knocking down my door. I know I don't look a day over 25......

Father/Daughter Dance

The 1st Father/Daughter dance was held on Friday night at the St. Mary Magdalen gym. The girls were very excited, and I think Pete was pretty excited too! I bought them flowers for the night and made them promise to wear them for their formal picture. They looked so cute, and Pete looked so handsome. It was a great turnout, and I think they will continue this tradition - at least I hope so. I helped set up the tables & decorations, and the gym looked really nice.
