I'm tired....

I meant to publish this post on Thursday but must have forgotten. I was really deliriously tired that day. I will post now to read again someday & laugh....

I hate complainers, but there are times when I just need to rest! This week is especially busy because Rosie & Anna are doing a cheerleading camp for 2 hours every day. I think the combination of work, St. MM auction, soccer, piano, cheer camp, gymnastics, trying to make healthy dinner every night is making for tired parents. Oh & Halloween! Anna & I ran to Target last night after I put Jo to bed & Pete & Rosie came home from soccer practice. We got the remaining stuff for costumes, candy, & toiletries for me & Pete (gotta have toothpaste!) It is a rainy day here, so before I dive into work, I needed to complain for a minute. I can tell you that I would rather be at home sleeping....

OK - I'm better & ready to tackle the day! I never remember my mom complaining with her 6 kids & running around, so I know I wouldn't change a thing in my life (well, maybe never traveling with work). She is my idol - she made it look so easy. We were very lucky to grow up with such awesome parents. Thank you Mom & Dad for giving me such a great example. I love you.

The First Haircut for Josephine

I'm not sure we can call this a haircut, but since picture day is Thursday for the big girls, I had the hair dresser cut off Jo's mullet in the back. It should grow more evenly now. I can't believe I am saying this, but she will have short hair for as long as she will let me. I'm so tired of tangles every morning!!!

Joanna's baby shower

We went to Joanna's baby shower on Sunday (Pete's cousin). She is having her first baby, and it is a girl. We are so excited to meet her! We hung out with the Carollo side of the family, and I was happy to round up the cousins & aunts & get a picture. We don't see all of them as much as we like, so I enjoy chatting & catching up with them. The best part was seeing Aunt Becky! Becky, see the great picture below with your nieces who love you so much!!

The kindergarten soccer team - all 25 of them!

The three teams played at the same time this week, so we snapped a picture of everyone on Saturday. Anna had a great game, and she got to play with her best buddy, Caroline. She passed twice to Caroline so she could score. They were high-fiving & having the best time. Their team played the best game I have seen them play. They stopped so many goals & scored at least 12 times. Everyone scored at least one time! They love playing & it shows.

Tennis anyone?

Due to my connections with the St. Louis Sports Commissions, I signed up Rosie & Anna for a free tennis camp on Saturday. Rosie's other good friends, Gabby & Sarah, attended as well. It was in Forest Park at the Dwight Davis Tennis center which is a great location. It was a beautiful morning, and the girls got free rackets & a T-shirt. It was called GoGirlGo Tennis Camp. Tennis pros taught the girls too which was even better.

Pete & I took the girls, and then we ate breakfast with Jo & played on the playground with her. A great way to start the weekend....

Mid-Week Update

Normal stuff with work, school, activities but just need to jot down some thoughts about the kids before I forget. First of all, Jo is a teething machine. The child has more teeth & more are coming in. She is drooling & won't eat much - she tries & then cries. Poor thing... She wakes up most nights screaming. In fact, on Sunday night, we had the windows open due to the awesome weather and I heard her screaming across the house. Pete & I ran in there because it sounded like she was hurt. I can't seem to see which ones are coming in, but I know it is teeth because of the drool! She is not herself at daycare either, but yesterday was a better day finally. Next week is a conference with her teacher - yes, a conference for my 17 month old! Jo is finally saying a few words - taking after Rosie & not using too many words (which is fine with me!) Rosie is a chatty cathy now, so any quiet person is much appreciated in the house.

Rosie & her pals always give us much to discuss each night. 3rd grade must be the beginning of "hurt feelings." She is very sensitive - wonder where she gets that from? She overanalyzes everthing - again, wonder where she gets that from? The girls do not realize that their honesty can sometimes be a little too much. They are moving from being little girls. I'm glad she comes to me to talk, and I hope I am helping!

Anna just listens to the conversation, and I can only imagine what her little head is thinking. Thank goodness, her little friends just want to play & their biggest trauma is who is the boss! They are all very outgoing, strong girls, and they make us laugh so much!! One of the girls, Taylor, is a 35-year old stuck in a 6-year old body. The thing she says cracks us up!
