Beautiful weather in STL

I helped coach Anna's soccer team on Saturday - no pics but one tired mommy! Lots of running for me - we are on the field & have to help when the ball goes out, etc. I thought I was a little in shape since I am able to work out a couple times of week now (early early morning), but I guess I have lots more work to do! Anyway, it was a good game & fun to coach Anna. She, of course, wanted to play the whole game but I had to sub in the other girls.

The weather was amazing this weekend again - 85 degrees & sunny. It felt pretty darn hot but no one is complaining because we know in one week it could change (and it will!)

We hung out at home on Sunday (cut grass, yardwork, laundry, grocery shopping), but I did take the kids to the park for a few hours. Here are my cuties....

That's the motto of the St. Louis Blues. The home opener was Friday night, and our compliance lawyers gave Cardinal Investment Advisors 5 seats to the game. I happily accepted seats FIRST ROW BY THE GLASS BEHIND THE GOAL!!! I have never sat so close, and it was amazing. Pete, Rosie & her 2 friends and me sat there & did not move the whole game (ok - one time we left to get a pretzel & water). The girls were totally into the game, and Pete & I had a great time too! They beat the Nashville Predators 5-2 - even better!

We do have a social life!

We had two social engagements this weekend: music trivia with my sisters & a trolley ride to the wineries with friends. Very fun! Trivia night was a blast - what a great idea vs. the normal ole trivia night. We busted out every song and laughed all night long.

The trolley ride was crazy, and it was a Sunday!!! The 3rd grade parents bid on this item at the auction last year. We couldn't figure out a Saturday because of sports, so we finally decided on a Sunday. Beautiful day in Augusta at the wineries.....

Zoo Field Trip with the Kindergarten class

Forgot my camera, but I must document this field trip. Anna was sooooo excited for this field trip plus she was happy for me to be going (I was touched by how much she kept thanking me for coming). Anyway, their 6th grade buddies were going to be with them on this trip, and Anna loves her buddy (Caroline Coleman). I'm still so mad at myself for forgetting my camera. The darn debate on Thursday night kept me from getting organized, and so Friday morning was crazy! Anyway, we rode the bus which was way to packed with kids. I really think we needed 2 buses, but luckily the zoo is very close. We visited the Children's Zoo & the Insectarium together, and then we had 2 hours to ourselves!! We completed the scavenger hunt & saw almost everything at the Zoo. Really fun & everyone was tired.

Ok - the bus ride home. Guess who sat in the very back with 10 6th graders singing VERY loudly??? That would be me. I could tell Anna thought it was too loud also, but they were having too much fun. I just couldn't be the mean old mom & stop the singing. I closed my eyes & pretended to be somewhere else....

September Birthday Bash

Time to celebrate the August & September birthdays - Adam, Anna, Alison, Rachel & of course, Mary! We went to Mary's house & swam (yes, swam in STL in September!) It was a hot day last Sunday - unbelievable but awesome! We had so much fun just hanging by the pool & eating - oh, I ate too much that day but it was so good. Here are some funny pics!

Rosie & Jo riding this bike around the pool. My mom couldn't watch (thought she was going to go into the pool), but Jo LOVED it. They went around at least 50 times. My baby was soooooo tired that night!

Rachel (14) and Adam (13) - they are the best kids!! They play with the younger cousins, and the younger kids can't get enough time with them. We love you Rachel & Adam & are so proud of both of you. You are both so smart & athletic & funny! Rachel is so beautiful & Adam is a stud (except we want you to cut your hair!!!) Ha Ha!

Have you seen cuter 6-year olds in your life? They are 2 weeks apart in age. They loved their fun chairs from Aunt Mary!!

They also loved their "Paint by Number" from Aunt Kay & Uncle Greg. They got right down to their art after the gifts were opened!

I'm so behind.....

I can't believe it has been a whole week since I've blogged. Every night, I have work to do & tonight is no exception. I should be practicing for a finals presentation tomorrow morning - I did write my notes at Rosie's tumbling practice tonight but I should go through it again. That's no fun - writing & looking at our pictures from this week is way more entertaining for me.

I will make this entry about the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) walk last Sunday. Jacob, my nephew, has diabetes, so we walk for him every year. It was a pretty warm day for September and a great turnout at Forest Park. We all walked the 5K together - the cousins love doing these walks & just being together. We hope one day to find a cure!!!

The cousins - nobody would cooperate!! Oh well! Jacob has the red shirt on - we are the "Jay Walkers." My kids outgrew their shirts but they never forget they are the Jay Walkers!
