Soccer update

Well, Anna finished her last game on Saturday. They had another great game & actually tied Our Lady of the Pillar. I'm so proud of Anna & how she played. She passed the ball & was always so happy for her friends to score. She is very driven & likes to win. She is going to be a great player as she continues to hone her skills.

Rosie's team is in building mode (as I keep reminding Coach Pete & Coach Gerry). They are so much better than last year, but they did lose 5-0 on Saturday. Pete & Gerry take every game to heart which is very commendable, but they need to focus on building a team. I personally think the girls are still focused on their own skills & how one of them will score. They need drills to enforce it is a team effort to get the ball down the field. I have to remind myself that I am not the coach, so I will just keep quiet for now. They will get there but it does not happen over night. Many of the kids on other teams (a few on our team) play year round & are on traveling teams. Our kids prefer to play a variety of sports (which is good), but it hurts as we may not be as strong in soccer.

Saturday is our last game, and I just hope for a goal for our team (we don't need to win just play well!) I WILL take pictures this week. Jo is so busy now & runs so fast that I have trouble getting pictures at Rosie's game. I am going to strap her into her stroller....

Halloween Night

Just have to post some more pics of Halloween night. We went to our friend's home, the Gombas', who live on the coolest street in Brentwood. Seriously, they do some decorating for Halloween. The police have to block it off because it is so busy & fun. Thank you Tera & Robert for hosting such a fun party - awesome food, drink & friends!

Halloween week/weekend - where to begin?

On Wednesday, Anna's kindergarten class had their Halloween party. Mrs. King, her Kindergarten teacher, loves Halloween! She does most of the party, so Tammy & I just need to "assist" her. St. MM had a 1/2 day on Thursday for parent/teacher conferences, and then they were lucky enough to be off school on Friday. Here's some pics from the party. They were all so well-behaved during the party. Mrs. King gave them a penny when they won the game, and they loved it (vs. more candy). It went by too fast, and I enjoyed my time with just Anna.

October Birthday Bash

We celebrated the October birthdays at Debbie's house on Sunday. My mom & dad & sister, Joanie, all have birthdays in October. Debbie's new place is great too & not too small (she downsized since her children are in college now). Mom & Dad love their Wii!!! They were so surprised & happy with the gift.

Trunk or Treat

We always go to Trunk or Treat at St. Mary Magdalen every year. The kids love it! There are games, a Haunted House, and of course, trick or treating. Rosie dressed as Elvis with her two friends, Gabby & Sarah. See their "act" below! These costumes were from a dance recital that Sarah & Gabby were in (Rosie borrowed someone's as she does not have dance class). Anna was a Wildcat cheerleader, and Jo was Pooh Bear. Very fun night, lots of socializing & eating candy!

Jo would not put her costume on at the beginning of the night. She would point to the bag & want it to go back in there. We ate pizza, and I kept telling her that she was going to be Pooh Bear tonight. It was so weird, but she went back to the car & wanted the costume on. From then on, she kept pointing to her belly when we asked "Who's Pooh Bear?" She loved it & ran all around with her costume. She got a lot of "oohs & ahhs" from everyone.

We celebrated 3 special birthdays on Friday night: my Mom and my sister's Mary & Joanie. We went to dinner & a movie, and we had a wonderful time together. We did not want our "date" to end! We met at the Mills Mall, ate dinner at Tony Romo's and then saw "The Secret Life of Bees." It is always so nice to just be together and talk and laugh. I love you all very much & always enjoy our time together.
